Lead Flexographic Printer

I’m recruiting for an experienced Lead Flexographic Printer to join a long-established manufacturing business in Brighouse.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced flexo printer who is ready to take on a little more responsibility, or someone already acting as a senior/lead printer who fancies a fresh challenge.
You’ll still be very much hands-on with the press, but you’ll also become the go-to person within a small, close-knit print department – helping organise the day-to-day workload, supporting the other printers and making sure quality and production standards remain where they need to be.
The business produces premium products for some of the UK’s leading retail brands, so quality is a huge focus and they’re looking for someone who genuinely takes pride in what they produce.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating wide-web flexographic printing machinery
- Taking a lead on the day-to-day running of the print department
- Reviewing production requirements and helping organise workloads
- Supporting, mentoring and sharing knowledge with other members of the print team
- Monitoring print quality throughout production and making adjustments where required
- Identifying ways to improve machine uptime, efficiency and waste levels
- Troubleshooting print and press issues
- Ensuring production and quality documentation is completed accurately
- Coordinating planned maintenance alongside the engineering team
- Working closely with Production, Planning and Engineering to keep jobs on schedule
- Supporting continuous improvement across the department
- Leading by example when it comes to quality, safety and housekeeping
About You
Previous flexographic printing experience is essential, with wide-web experience particularly desirable.
We’d also like to hear from you if you:
- Have strong knowledge of flexographic print and press operation
- Take real pride in producing consistently high-quality work
- Are confident troubleshooting issues on press
- Enjoy helping and supporting less experienced colleagues
- Have good communication and organisational skills
- Are proactive and comfortable taking responsibility
- Work well as part of a small, close-knit team
- Have a genuine interest in improving production processes and reducing waste
You don't necessarily need to have held a formal Lead Printer title before. If you're an experienced flexo printer who naturally helps others, takes responsibility on shift and feels ready to step up, they'd be very interested in speaking with you.
Working Hours
The business offers a flexible working pattern that adjusts around production requirements throughout the year.
There will naturally be busier periods where additional hours are required, balanced by reduced hours during quieter periods. Importantly, you'll receive the same guaranteed monthly salary throughout the year, giving you consistency regardless of the hours worked in a particular month.
There are also opportunities to earn additional money through overtime when available.
