This Role - This is a full-time, on-site, Fire & Security Engineer based in Leicestershire. This engineer will install, commission, and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and related life-safety and security equipment mainly for commercial clients.
Responsibilities - will include fault-finding, testing, and maintenance of systems, as well as completing accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role also involves planned and reactive (call out) service visits.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Fire and/or Security Engineering, including installation, and maintenance of fire alarms and electronic security systems.
- Understanding of network security, particularly for IP-based CCTV, access control, and integrated security platforms.
- Practical experience with fire alarms, CCTV, access control and Intruder alarms mainly in commercial environments, including fault-finding and testing.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements (e.g., BS standards, health and safety, best and safe working practices).
- Ability to read technical drawings, system schematics, and to complete clear electronic service reports and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach when working on customers sites.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Leicestershire, the Midlands, and surrounding areas as required.
- A relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in fire and security systems or electrical engineering woud be an advantage.
