Overview
Join our dynamic team as an HGV Class 1 Driver, delivering essential goods efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers the opportunity to work during day or night shifts, providing flexibility and variety in your driving career.
Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including curtainsider, on designated routes during day or night shifts
- Load, secure, and unload cargo with attention to safety protocols and proper handling techniques
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal standards
- Plan efficient delivery routes, adhering to schedules and customer requirements
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered on the road
- Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies to promote safe driving practices
Experience
- Proven commercial driving experience with a valid HGV Class 1 license
- Prior experience with general transportation is highly desirable
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and customer service skills
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance standards for large vehicles
- Ability to handle physical tasks related to loading/unloading cargo when necessary
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools

Pay: £46,000.00-£58,000.00 per year
