Job Overview
Southend City Community College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Tutor to deliver engaging, practical, non-accredited cookery courses for adults within our Community Learning provision.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences that develop learners' confidence, practical cookery skills and wellbeing in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Courses may include one-off workshops, short courses and themed classes delivered during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
The role is ideal for an experienced chef, cookery tutor or catering professional with a passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
Duties
· Plan, prepare and deliver engaging non-accredited catering and cookery sessions.
· Deliver a variety of courses, including:
· Basic cookery skills
· Healthy eating
· Baking and patisserie
· World cuisine
· Seasonal and festive cooking
· Budget-friendly meals
· Family cooking workshops
· Specialist themed workshops
· Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of learners with differing abilities and learning styles.
· Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
· Prepare lesson plans, recipes and resource materials.
Skills
· Excellent practical cookery skills.

· Excellent classroom and behaviour management.

Pay: £24.85-£28.41 per hour
