Motor Vehicle Technician
Autolex Motors Ltd is a family-run automotive business established in 2017, with over 20 years of experience in the motor trade. We currently have a close-knit team of 8 employees working across two sites.
At one site, we operate as a successful used car and van dealership. Our second site is a fully equipped general workshop with four ramps, providing a comprehensive range of automotive services, including:
- MOT Class 4 & 7
- Vehicle servicing
- General mechanical repairs
- Vehicle diagnostics
- Air conditioning services
- Engine rebuilding
Our team works closely across both sites, supporting one another to achieve high standards of workmanship, efficiency and, most importantly, excellent customer satisfaction.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Motor Vehicle Technician to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of servicing, maintenance and repair work to a high standard, while working efficiently and meeting expected timescales.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic and is able to work both independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
Essential Skills & Requirements
The ideal candidate will be able to confidently carry out, as a minimum:
- Routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Brake inspections and repairs
- Suspension repairs and replacement
- General mechanical repairs
- Vehicle safety checks and fault finding
- Work to a consistently high standard of workmanship
- Work efficiently and manage time effectively
You will also need:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Motor Vehicle / Automotive Maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- A reliable, professional and positive approach to work
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work well within a team
Desirable Skills
The following experience would be advantageous, although not essential:
- Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
- MOT testing, particularly Class 4 & 7
- Air conditioning systems
- Advanced mechanical repairs
- Engine rebuilding
