We’re looking for an adaptable and analytical Field Service Engineer to join our busy and friendly Service Team at LK Metrology. In this role, you’ll be responsible for servicing, installing, and maintaining our globally renowned Coordinate Measuring Machines, and helping some of the world’s biggest names in automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing achieve outstanding precision. You’ll be field based, supporting our customers both in the UK and Worldwide.
What You’ll Do
· Meeting service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
· Installation, calibration, repairs, and maintenance of equipment in the field – both in the UK and overseas
· Providing customer training when required
· Acting as a technical expert on all LK Metrology products
· Documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repair work
· Submitting paperwork in a timely manner
· Participating in service sales opportunities
· Providing technical support to service customers, internally and externally
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a problem-solver with strong practical skills, flexibility, and a proactive attitude. You should have:
Our ideal applicant for the position of Field Service Engineer will have knowledge of metrology, but this is not essential as training will be provided. You will be able to demonstrate the following as part of the application and interview process:
· A technical qualification (Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics)
· Excellent fault-finding skills
· Alternatively, you may be qualified by experience
· Technical background with exposure to both mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment
· Previous experience working as a service engineer – this may not be in metrology but another technical industry with transferrable skills
· Willingness to travel and stay overnight at customer locations on a regular basis, sometimes at short notice
· Willingness to travel overseas to support our global customers
· A full UK driving licence
