Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood education standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for children and staff
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children's progress
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
- Organise activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development among children
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, safeguarding, and child development assessments
- Promote a positive team culture centred on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within a nursery or childcare setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience and empathy
- Organised with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Good driving skills for travelling between nursery locations or community events (if required)
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or equivalent are desirable but not essential; relevant nursery experience is highly valued
