We Are BAU Group Ltd is an established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Contractor delivering high-quality HVAC and electrical installations across the commercial sector.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team working on a long-term project at Gatwick Airport Training Offices. This is a landside project, meaning no airside security clearance is required.
We are also interested in hearing from experienced subcontract Air Conditioning Engineers.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of commercial air conditioning systems within office and training facilities.
The role will include:
- Installation of VRF/VRV air conditioning systems.
- Installation of split and multi-split systems.
- Installation of refrigerant pipework, condensate drainage and insulation.
- Installation of indoor and outdoor units.
- Pressure testing, vacuum testing and charging systems.
- Testing and commissioning of installed systems.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Coordinating with electricians and other trades on site.
- Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and in accordance with manufacturers' instructions.
- Completing commissioning documentation and handover records.
- Maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards at all times.
RequirementsEssential
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent).
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification.
- Experience installing commercial air conditioning systems.
- Experience commissioning VRF/VRV systems.
- Ability to work from technical drawings.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Desirable
- Experience with Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Toshiba or Samsung systems.
- IPAF.
- PASMA.
- CSCS or ECS Card.
- SSSTS (for senior applicants).
