Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, good communication, and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading. The ideal applicant will have previous delivery experience and hold a valid driver’s licence. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while optimising fuel efficiency.
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, with care to prevent damage or injury.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and delivery confirmations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during transportation and loading activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving environments.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations or handling heavy lifting is desirable.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices or maps efficiently.
- Physically fit to perform manual handling tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
