Thornton Manor is one of the North West's leading exclusive-use wedding and events venues, hosting luxury weddings, corporate events, private celebrations and outdoor festivals throughout the year.
We are looking for an experienced, organised and proactive Deputy Manager to join our management team. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the office, support multiple departments, drive sales opportunities and ensure the smooth operation of the venue behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation on events and wedding and also of the running of the office and reception.
- Manage and support the office administration team.
- Ensure all enquiries, correspondence and administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
- Coordinate office workflows across weddings, events, accommodation and operations.
- Support senior management with the day-to-day running of the business.
- Monitor office procedures and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Oversee ordering of office supplies and manage supplier relationships.
- Ensure company systems and records are maintained accurately.
- Assist with event preparation and operational planning.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
- Produce reports, schedules and management information as required.
- Deputise for senior management when required.
- Work closely with all departments to ensure exceptional customer service is maintained.
Sales & Business Development
- Respond to wedding, corporate and event enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Conduct venue show rounds and build strong relationships with prospective clients.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through excellent customer service and follow-up.
- Identify opportunities to upsell accommodation, additional venue services.
- (Food and Beverages are outsourced - liase with catering and beverage team)
- Support the achievement of venue sales targets and occupancy goals.
- Assist with marketing campaigns, wedding fairs, open days and promotional events.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, event organisers and suppliers to generate repeat business.
- Maintain accurate sales records and CRM systems, ensuring all leads are followed through.
- Monitor enquiry conversion rates and provide regular sales reports to senior management.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Highly sales driven person
- Confident managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- An experienced Office Manager, Deputy Manager, Sales Manager or Operations professional.
- A strong people manager with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Commercially minded with a passion for sales and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Confident conducting client meetings and venue tours.
- Professional and confident when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Calm under pressure and able to solve problems independently.
- IT competent with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Experience within hospitality, weddings, events or luxury venues is highly desirable.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
