Financial Management department is in charge of planning, organizing, directing and controlling the financial activities of the bank. The department performs a variety of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting, fixed assets and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting and treasury (asset and liability management). As a Vice President Accounting – Mandarin Speaking, you will be responsible to lead and manage the Accounting team, overseeing accounting operations, statutory reporting, and Head Office reporting functions. This is a full time permanent position.
Key responsibilities

Ensure accounting treatments comply with IFRS, applicable regulatory requirements, and Head Office accounting policies

Maintain and regularly review accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure they remain current, effective and aligned with Head Office standards

Ensure timely, accurate and complete financial and regulatory reporting to Head Office and other relevant stakeholders

Strengthen and enhance the financial control framework, ensuring controls are robust, efficient and appropriately documented

Lead the annual statutory audit process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure high-quality financial statements are delivered within agreed deadlines

Identify, assess, and manage financial and operational risks within the accounting function, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented

Act as the primary contact for internal audits, Head Office audits and second-line assurance reviews, coordinating responses and overseeing the timely remediation of findings

Manage team and provide leadership, coaching and development opportunities to team members, supporting performance management, professional development and succession planning
Requirements

Degree educated in Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant subjects

Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Proven experience within the banking or financial services sector

Experience of managing or working closely with internal and external audit functions

Solid technical accounting knowledge, including a sound understanding of IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements

Demonstrated people management and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and motivate teams
