Every day brings a mix of problem solving and people support. From resolving data queries for the external administrator to responding to member and internal questions, the role keeps things varied and engaging. There is also involvement in pre-retirement programmes, helping colleagues plan ahead with confidence. Alongside this, responsibilities include calculating contributions and benefits, and supporting the smooth running of both defined benefit and defined contribution pension arrangements.

Who are we looking for?
A strong background in HR or payroll is key, paired with a solid understanding of pension schemes. The ideal person is comfortable explaining complex information in a clear and simple way, while managing expectations with professionalism and empathy. Experience in pensions administration or working towards a relevant qualification is a bonus, as is a good appreciation of pensions legislation and calculation processes.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in an HR generalist or payroll role
- Understanding of Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit pensions schemes
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information and issues to non-specialists
- Ability to manage customer expectation
Desirable
- 2 years' pensions experience
- Appropriate pensions professional qualification
- Experience of pension scheme administrating and calculation
