About the Role
The Workdry Group has seen enormous growth over recent years. Due to this we’re pleased to be adding an additional Head of Health & Safety into our friendly Health & Safety team, to help oversee all health & safety policies, procedures and programs across the business.

As Head of Health & Safety, you’ll get to:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive health and safety strategy that supports the overall business objectives. Set measurable H&S goals and monitor progress towards achieving them.
- Lead the development of long-term health and safety plans, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor a team of H&S Advisors across multiple locations and business entities, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of safety initiatives. Work collaboratively with your team to ensure adequate compliance across the business.
- Establish a health and safety plan for team for year to come in line with the overall health and safety strategy, ensuring any associated programs are up to date.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility for any H&S initiatives.
- Profile the current and potential health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace, participating in corporate-level risk assessments. This will mean developing and approving controls for identified hazards.
- Create, circulate, implement, and review health and safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Liaise with external bodies such as regulatory agencies, insurers, and auditors.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is ready for a challenge and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, an individual who can see the benefit of putting time into improvement projects as well as the day-to-day health & safety activity.
The personal behaviours, skills & experience you will display:
- Detailed knowledge and operational experience of ensuring compliance with: ISO 18001 / 45001 Health and Safety Management Systems and H&S Legislation.
- NEBOSH Diploma, Degree or NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Effective and recent demonstrable experience in Head of H&S role or similar.
- Experienced and confident in writing and reviewing health and safety procedures in line with legislation and management systems.
- Proven background in leading a Health and Safety team setting clear objectives aligned to goals. Proven track record of raising the standards within a team.
- Experience of driving a Health and Safety culture creating an environment where good practices are a way of everyday life and total compliance is adhered to.
- Professional and confident to challenge the status quo and improve the way things are done with experience of continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Ability to present and communicate information effectively to management and directors.
- Driving licence endorsed with no more than 6 points at any one point.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK spending nights away from home from time to time.
