Calm Futures is looking for Support Workers to join our supported living service in Hoddesdon, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Both day shifts and waking night shifts are available.
About the role
No two days are exactly the same. You’ll get to know the people you support, understand what matters to them and provide consistent, person-centred support that promotes independence, choice and confidence.
The people living within the service have their own personalities, interests and routines. They enjoy getting out and about, chatting about their day and spending time doing the things they enjoy – with football being a particular favourite for some!
Your role may include:
- Supporting with everyday tasks including cooking, cleaning and shopping
- Helping people attend appointments, activities and social outings
- Supporting with medication
- Providing personal care where required
- Encouraging independence and individual choice
- Following individual support plans and keeping accurate records
- Providing calm and appropriate support during behaviours that may challenge
