Rexs Auto Repairs is looking for an experienced WORKSHOP MANAGER / VEHICLE MECHANIC to join our team in Tonbridge.
This is a hands-on position combining the day-to-day management of the workshop with servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
We are looking for someone with previous workshop management experience who is also an experienced and confident mechanic. You will take responsibility for keeping the workshop organised, managing the team and workload, and making sure our customers receive a professional and reliable service.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the workshop
- Organising and prioritising jobs to keep work moving efficiently
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Diagnosing vehicle faults and identifying required repairs
- Managing and supporting workshop staff
- Checking work and maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Liaising with customers and explaining repairs when required
- Managing workloads, timescales and customer expectations
- Ensuring the workshop remains organised, safe and professional
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced and confident vehicle mechanic
- Has previous workshop manager or similar supervisory experience
- Has strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Can organise and manage a busy workshop
- Is comfortable managing and supporting other members of staff
- Can take responsibility and work independently
- Communicates confidently and professionally with customers
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Is reliable, practical and well organised
- Holds a full UK driving licence
