Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Support Tutor to join our vibrant educational team. In this role, you will provide targeted support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access and thrive within the learning environment. Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored support to learners with SEND, including those with autism and other disabilities, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.
- Assist teachers in implementing personalized learning plans and adapting classroom activities to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Support learners with care needs, promoting social development, communication skills, and emotional well-being.
- Use strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring clear and positive interactions.
- Observe and monitor student progress, providing feedback and documenting developments to inform ongoing support strategies.
- Create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages participation, independence, and confidence among students with special needs.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists to deliver cohesive support.
Qualifications
- Experience working directly with learners in educational or care settings, especially those with autism or disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with learners, families, and team members.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in supporting learner’s unique needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training related to teaching, special education, or SEND support are preferred but not mandatory.
