Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to inspire SEMH students and foster a love for mathematics. In this role, you will design engaging lesson plans, deliver instruction that caters to diverse learning styles, and support students’ academic growth. Your enthusiasm for teaching and strong communication skills will create a positive classroom environment where students feel motivated to succeed. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, including those with special needs or disabilities, and possess a genuine commitment to nurturing young learners’ potential.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that make mathematics accessible and exciting for all students.
- Deliver engaging instruction using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and observations, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities or special education requirements, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
- Provide tutoring and extra help sessions outside regular class hours to reinforce learning concepts and boost student confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral observations in compliance with school policies.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum across various grade levels.
- Experience working with children, including toddlers and young learners, fostering their curiosity and understanding of math concepts.
- Background in special education and experience supporting individuals with disabilities to ensure inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff.
- Proven ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners and special needs accommodations.
- Ability to tutor students individually or in small groups to enhance their understanding of complex topics.
- Compassionate approach to toddler care, creating a nurturing environment that encourages early interest in learning.
