ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an enthusiastic organic marketing intern, who is keen on learning how to both use and influence AI. We have just won two major global fashion and beauty brands, and we need support across the wider portfolio while the team focuses on these accounts. This role begins in October and is a 3 month contract.
Within our Soho office, we have 60+ people working in all areas of marketing, and while your focus will be in Organic marketing (SEO & GEO) you will have the opportunity to learn about Paid Search, Paid Social and other marketing strategies. We have a small and talented team in our Organic department, who are excited to show you the ropes and get you as passionate about SEO & GEO as we are.
This role is hybrid, with maximum 3 days a week in our Soho office (W1D), with Thursdays as a mandatory day, and Tuesday is when the rest of the team gather in the office.
ABOUT YOU
You don't need agency experience. You do need to be curious about how search is changing, and willing to learn the unglamorous parts of the job as well as the interesting ones.
Organic marketing is detail work. A lot of the value comes from noticing that a page title is wrong, that a competitor has started ranking for something they didn't last month, or that a brand's tone of voice has slipped. If you like spotting patterns and getting things right, you'll do well here.
We work with premium fashion and beauty brands, so an interest in that world helps, but it isn't a requirement. Writing well matters more.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll sit within the Organic team, working mainly across two of our existing accounts, with the chance to support the new brands as they ramp up. Day to day, that looks like:
- Writing blog content to a brief, in each brand's tone of voice, ready for the client to publish
- Supporting on SEO and GEO audits: working through pages and checking against the brief, and flagging what you find
- Building client decks, turning the team's findings into slides that make sense to someone outside the department
- Pulling data and reporting: gathering numbers from our tools, keeping monthly reports up to date and helping spot what's moved and why
Everything we produce is a recommendation someone else has to understand and agree with before it happens. How clearly you explain your work matters as much as the work itself.
You'll be given real work on real accounts, with someone reviewing it before it goes to the client.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- How organic search works in practice: technical SEO basics, content strategy, and how the two connect
- Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO): how AI assistants choose their sources, and what a brand can actually do to influence that
- How an agency runs, from client briefs through to reporting
- Enough exposure to Paid Search and Paid Social to know whether you want to go that way instead
We've run this internship twice before, and both interns were made permanent at the end of it. We can't promise that every time, but we hire internally where we can, and we run the internship with that in mind.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Clear, accurate written English, and the ability to adapt your writing to different brand voices
- Interest in AI tools and search, with a view on what they're good and bad at
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and slides, and quick to pick up new software; we mostly work in Google Workspace
- Careful with detail, whether that's a fact in a blog post or a figure in a report
- Organised, and able to keep track of several small tasks at once
- Proactive: you'll spot things we've missed, and we want to hear about it
- Comfortable speaking up in internal meetings, whether that's an idea, a question or a disagreement
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to have, not essential: any hands-on experience with SEO tools, a CMS, or content writing, whether that's from a placement, a side project or your own blog.
HOW TO APPLY
Send us your CV and a short note (a few paragraphs is plenty) covering:
- Why organic marketing, and why now
- One example of a brand you think shows up well in AI search results or Google, and your view on why
You're welcome to use AI to help you with this. We will be judging how effectively you use it to craft your answers.
We'll review applications as they come in.
