About the Role
GearTech Gaming and Computer Retail UK Ltd is looking for an experienced, commercially minded and analytical Inventory Planning Manager – Technology to lead inventory planning, stock optimisation and product availability across a fast-moving technology and gaming retail environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of inventory forecasting, replenishment planning, stock performance and lifecycle management across computer hardware, gaming equipment, peripherals and related technology products.
Working closely with procurement, merchandising, finance, warehouse operations and commercial teams, the role will ensure that stock levels support customer demand while controlling excess inventory, improving availability and reducing working-capital risk.
This position is suitable for an inventory, supply-chain or demand-planning professional with strong experience in technology, electronics, retail or distribution who is ready to lead planning activity and influence wider commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead inventory planning across technology and gaming product categories
- Develop demand forecasts using historical sales and market trends
- Establish appropriate stock targets across product ranges
- Maintain optimum inventory availability
- Balance customer demand against working-capital requirements
- Develop replenishment strategies for high-volume products
- Monitor stock cover and days of inventory
- Identify excess, slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Develop plans to reduce ageing stock
- Monitor stock-out risks across key product categories
- Review demand changes and adjust forecasts accordingly
- Lead weekly and monthly inventory-planning reviews
- Analyse sales trends by product, category and channel
- Support seasonal and promotional forecasting
- Plan inventory requirements for major product launches
- Coordinate inventory planning for new hardware releases
- Monitor product lifecycle stages
- Develop exit strategies for end-of-life products
- Support clearance and markdown planning
- Work closely with procurement teams on purchase requirements
- Recommend purchase quantities based on demand forecasts
- Review supplier lead times and delivery performance
- Identify supply constraints and potential shortages
- Develop contingency plans for supply interruptions
- Coordinate stock allocation across locations and channels
- Support e-commerce product availability
- Monitor inventory performance across warehouses
- Review inbound inventory against expected demand
- Support warehouse capacity planning
- Improve stock accuracy and inventory visibility
- Develop inventory dashboards and management reports
- Monitor inventory KPIs
- Analyse inventory turnover

- Investigate unexpected changes in sales or inventory
- Produce monthly inventory-performance reports
- Present inventory insights to senior stakeholders
- Support annual and quarterly budgeting processes
- Prepare inventory projections for financial planning
- Analyse the financial impact of stock decisions
- Work with finance teams on inventory valuation
- Support stock-provision and write-down analysis
- Coordinate physical stock-count activities
- Investigate significant inventory discrepancies
- Develop inventory-control procedures
- Improve replenishment and forecasting processes
- Support implementation of inventory-planning systems
- Lead continuous improvement across inventory operations
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
- Provide direction to inventory analysts and coordinators
- Prioritise workload across planning activities

Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- At least four years of experience in inventory planning, demand planning, supply chain or stock management
- Experience taking ownership of inventory forecasts
- Strong understanding of replenishment planning
- Experience managing stock across multiple product categories
- Strong knowledge of inventory-management principles
- Experience analysing sales and demand trends
- Strong forecasting and numerical skills
- Experience monitoring inventory KPIs
- Good understanding of working-capital management
- Experience managing excess and obsolete inventory
- Ability to analyse large volumes of commercial data
