Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols and legal requirements
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Support inventory management by stock checking and replenishing supplies as needed
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety standards at all times
- Offer compassionate patient care, addressing queries and providing guidance on medication adherence
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and documentation
Experience
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and confidentiality
- Organised with excellent attention to detail to ensure dispensing accuracy
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a fast-paced environment
