The role We're looking for a London-based freelancer to lead our 20th anniversary event end to end raising the funds, bringing in the people, and running the event on the night. The target is to raise approximately £50,000 - 100,000. This is a hands-on role for someone who can both open doors and roll up their sleeves: secure the sponsors, fill the room, and deliver a memorable evening.
You'll work closely with our small team but be trusted to drive this independently.
What you'll do
- Build and deliver a plan to reach the fundraising target
- Identify, approach and secure corporate sponsors and partners
- Bring in supporters, donors and guests using our networks and your own
- Create the sponsorship offer and pitch it to prospects
- Plan and run the event itself: venue, suppliers, programme, logistics, guest experience
- Steward sponsors and major donors before, during and after
- Keep the team updated on income and progress against target
About you
- Proven track record raising funds, through events, sponsorship or major donors
- Experience planning and delivering live events, end to end
- An existing network of sponsors, donors or partners you can call on
- Confident pitching, negotiating and closing and equally happy managing event detail
- A genuine self-starter who can carry a project with minimal oversight
- London-based and able to attend meetings and the September event in person
- Motivated by MAF's mission in global health [charity/INGO experience desirable]
Details
- Location: London (hybrid; in-person meetings and the event required)
- Contract: Freelance
