THE ROLE:
We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and experienced, produce-focused Head Chef to join our team at Pollen.
As Pollen HC you will oversee daily kitchen operations for our two bustling cafes, inspiring the same passion for product and quality across our kitchen team that our Pollen bakers, pastry chefs and front of house teams pour into their work.
You will lead your teams confidently and by example, personifying our shared behaviours and values: warm approachability, an eye for detail and a passion for prioritising quality and seasonality in absolutely everything we do.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
· Leading day-to-day operations across our two bustling sites, setting the pace and standard in service while inspiring and motivating your team to deliver beautiful dishes with genuine care
· Building and supporting team growth owning your team’s development journey, empowering them creatively and sharing ideas- driving energy and engagement daily
· Menu Development you’ll collaborate closely with our senior production and operational teams to develop fresh, seasonally evolving dishes which showcase the produce and personality of each of our cafes
· Supplier Relations & Procurement: we source as locally as we can for as much as possible, and are proud to work with some incredible producers; you will be caretaker of these existing relationships and passionate about forging more
· Commercials: with an eye for detail and a head for the numbers you will manage everything from labour deployment to menu costing and inventory, planning and forecasting in-line with business patterns, ensuring your department delivers
· Compliance: overseeing all aspects to ensure our teams are confidently working in adherence to food safety standards/regulations and Pollen process
