We're a 90-year-old family haulier that has hauled Britain's goods since 1934, still family-run, and still investing in the fleet and the people who drive it.
Due to a recent contract win with an existing customer of 15 years we will now be providing distribution from their site in Stoke on Trent- starting with three artic units where these positions will be based.
This isn't agency-style hauling. No agency drivers have been used here in over seven years, and when you're on holiday your truck is covered by one of our employed relief drivers or apprentices, not a stranger from a different yard every week. You'll get your own assigned unit, you'll learn the customers, and the customers will learn you.
The numbers. £38,500 – £47,000 a year, on a guaranteed 40 hours with an average working week of 55 hours. That's £16.50 an hour including a £5.00 daily tax-free meal allowance (equivalent to 50p an hour), with overtime, nights out and weekends available on top.
What we're looking for. A valid C+E licence and CPC, a clean'ish record, and the kind of attitude that fits a family business; dependable, methodical, and good with customers.
What you'll get. Your own assigned unit, full uniform and PPE, company pension, overtime premiums, ongoing CPC training, and a social calendar that includes Truckfest, BBQs and family fun days.
If you want to drive for a haulier that still does things properly, apply today at Welch's Transport.
Welch Group has hauled Britain’s goods since 1934 and now leads the charge into zero-emission logistics. Still family owned and operated we run a mixed fleet of 80 HGV's running up and down the UK, with core depots in Cambridge, Bedford and Huntingdon.
