Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. Working hours 8am til 1pm week 1 and 1pm til 6pm week 2. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young children, supporting their development and learning in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging activities, fostering a safe space for children, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of childcare. Previous nursery experience and early childhood education qualifications are highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
- Support children's emotional well-being and encourage positive behaviour through effective communication and management techniques
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and teamwork
- Assist in the assessment of children's progress and contribute to their individual development plans
- Support the implementation of early childhood education programmes aligned with best practices
- Drive organisational initiatives related to childcare standards and curriculum delivery when required
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development milestones
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage children positively
- Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or equivalent
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving transportation responsibilities
