About The Role
We are looking for a reliable and practical Van / Warehouse Operative to support our growing logistics and warehouse operation.
The primary focus of this role is delivering customer orders using the company van. This includes loading goods securely, planning efficient delivery routes, and ensuring safe, professional delivery to customers.
While deliveries are the priority, there will be times when you will support wider warehouse operations, particularly when deliveries are completed early or the van is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out customer deliveries using the company van
- Planning efficient delivery routes to maximise daily deliveries
- Checking, securing, and verifying loads before each journey
- Driving safely, responsibly, and professionally at all times
- Supporting warehouse operations during quieter delivery periods
- Picking, packing, and preparing goods for dispatch when required
- Loading and unloading vans, pallets, and courier shipments
- Handling boxes and stock, including heavy items
- Using pallet trucks and, if certified, counterbalance forklifts
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Reporting vehicle damage or defects immediately
- Adhering strictly to all health & safety procedures
About the Work
- Deliveries are expected to grow, with at least one delivery per day, often more
- Orders range from single-item courier parcels to full pallets and lorry loads
- Fleet colleagues will usually ensure orders are picked and packed, but you may assist where required
- Your priority is maximising the use of the van for deliveries
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence with no points
- Confident, safe, and courteous driver
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Reliable, punctual, and well organised
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous van driving or warehouse experience
- Forklift (counterbalance) licence
- Experience with pallet trucks and warehouse equipment
Health & Safety
- You must follow all health & safety guidelines at all times
- Manual handling is a regular part of the role
- PPE will be provided where required
