The role will include but not limited to:

To assist the Marina Manager in the day-to-day operations at Ocean Village Marina; working alongside the team to ensure the effective and efficient running of site operations always ensuring excellence in customer service and experience.

As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for successful onboarding, training, and development of your team.

You will ensure your team are briefed daily and are clear as to their duties and workload. Any comms’ will be delivered in a professional, open, polite, and respectful way.

You will ensure that new team members joining alongside your existing team receive the training, development and support needed to deliver a great customer experience and keep themselves and others safe.

Know how to handle periods of change and lead a team through such periods, displaying motivating and encouraging behaviours.

To oversee routine maintenance; ensuring the marina remains safe, secure, clean, tidy and well presented at all times and to complete the required safety checks.

To ensure the highest levels of customer service and experience at all times, demonstrating pro-active awareness to exceed expectations and act upon any potential concerns before issues occur.

To establish a good working relationship with staff, tenants and customers; which is based on trust and efficiency, you will have a warm and friendly approach.

Excellent communication with the Marina Manager is paramount, ensuring they are kept informed of all relevant updates, occurrences, complaints, causes for concern and compliments.

Maintaining the compliance records of the site, ensuring all requirements are kept up to date, actions completed as required and delivering excellent compliance and health and safety audit scores.
The key requirements for this role are but not limited to:

Assist in the delivery of on time and purposeful 121’s, performance, and development reviews with your team.

You will manage the staff rota, ensuring the business needs are covered with qualified team members on a daily basis. This may include covering shifts as required.

To ensure the day-to-day operation and overall image of the site reflect the Company’s position as market leader.

You will adopt a flexible approach to your role and work with your team for flexibility to deliver a stable, well run, and successful 7-day operation. This will include working weekends and covering operational day and night shifts as required.

You’ll drive commercial performance to maximise marina and parking income, have a great working relationship with the berth holders and the tenant base onsite. You will ensure accurate billing and account management.

We have clear safe working practices. As an Assistant Marina Manager, you are responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of your team. You will take a ‘hands-on’ approach to oversee activities ensuring your team carry out their duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy.

Marketing communications via social media, newsletter and CRM will be a core responsibility.
