Kind Tailored Care is growing, and we're looking for an experienced HR professional to join us and help shape how we support our people.
We provide 24/7, person-tailored support to the people in our care and are proud to be rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our values of Kindness, Honesty and Loyalty guide how we work with both the people we support and our colleagues.
We're looking for an HR Manager who is confident working independently and can take ownership of the HR function. You'll work closely with our senior leadership and management team, providing practical advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
Most importantly, we want someone who can bring employment law and HR legislation to life. We need someone who in addition to explaining what the law says, can also explain what it means for us, advise us on our options and help make fair, consistent and well-informed decisions.
You'll be responsible for providing a proactive and practical HR service across the organisation, including:
- Advising managers on employee relations
- Work collaboratively with our policy portal provider to ensure employment contracts, policies and procedures remain aligned with current legislation and good practice and are tailored to Kind Tailored Care.
- Providing clear guidance on employment law and helping managers understand how it applies in practice.
- Coaching people leaders and building their confidence in dealing with people matters.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding and retention.
- Supporting organisational change and workforce planning as we continue to grow.
- Monitoring workforce information and identifying trends or areas where action is needed.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential HR records.
- Supporting safeguarding and regulatory requirements where they relate to our people.
- Working with senior leaders to identify improvements to our people practices and employee experience.
- Providing HR information and support for tenders and business development where required.
This is a role where you'll need to be comfortable self-managing your workload, prioritising demands and knowing when something needs to be escalated.
Occasional travel to our services across the South and Southwest of England may be required.
We're looking for someone who is:
- An experienced HR professional with strong employee relations experience.
- Confident interpreting and applying UK employment law.
- Able to explain complex HR and legal issues in a clear, practical way.
- Comfortable advising and constructively challenging managers and senior leaders.
- Highly organised and able to manage their own workload without needing constant direction.
- Approachable, pragmatic and confident dealing with difficult or sensitive situations.
- Discreet and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Solutions-focused and willing to get involved rather than simply identify problems.
- Committed to creating a fair, inclusive and positive working environment.
A CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable, although we will consider candidates with Level 3 alongside strong relevant experience.
Experience within health and social care would be advantageous, but we're more interested in your ability to provide good, practical HR advice and support.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of HR within a growing organisation.
You'll have the opportunity to improve our systems and processes and help shape the culture of an organisation that is committed to doing things well.
We are committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion and to creating a workplace where people are treated with dignity, respect and fairness.
Appointment will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks.
