About the Role
Gee Transport Ltd is looking for a reliable and dependable Class 1 HGV Driver to join our night trunk operation.
This is a straightforward trunking role ideal for a driver who is professional, organised, and able to work independently. The successful candidate will be allocated their own vehicle and trailers, ensuring consistency and eliminating unnecessary vehicle swapping or changes.
The Route
- Collect empty trailer from our Wythenshawe depot (3-4pm)
- Travel to Knowsley depot for a drop and swap (5pm)
- Take loaded trailer to Tamworth depot
- Complete second drop and swap at Tamworth (7.30pm)
- Ensure inbound trailer is collected and moving by the 9:00pm cut-off
- Return inbound trailer back to Wythenshawe depot (11.30pm approx.)
Key Responsibilities
- Completing nightly trunk runs safely and efficiently
- Conducting daily vehicle and trailer defect checks
- Reporting any defects or issues promptly in line with company procedures
- Managing trailer swaps and paperwork accurately
- Ensuring all collections and arrivals meet operational cut-off times
- Following all driver hours, tachograph, and road safety regulations
- Keeping allocated vehicle and trailers clean and well maintained
- Representing the company professionally at all depot locations
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- ADR Licence preferred but not essential
- Previous trunking experience preferred
- Reliable and dependable attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good understanding of transport compliance and driver regulations
