Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sports White Lining Operative to join our growing ground maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in the sports turf industry who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working independently.
The ideal candidate will have experience in sports line marking and, ideally, experience operating Turf Tank robotic line marking systems. Full training will be provided on our equipment and processes to ensure you are confident before working independently.
This role involves maintaining sports facilities across primary and secondary schools, along with sports clubs and local authority contracts. No two days are the same, with work ranging from football and rugby pitches to athletics tracks, logo mapping and car park bay marking.
Duties
- Operate Turf Tank robotic line marking systems to produce sports markings to the highest industry standards.
- Follow detailed marking plans and specifications to ensure accurate field layouts for various sports, including football, rugby and athletics
- Carry out logo mapping and car park bay marking where required.
- Maintain allocated sites to consistently high standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of markings to ensure clarity, durability, and safety standards are maintained
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate marking activities around event schedules or field maintenance needs
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of markings for tournaments, training sessions, or special events
- Liaise professionally with site managers and clients to ensure their requirements are met.
- Report site updates, client requests and any issues to the General Manager.
- Work safely, efficiently and independently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Assist with other grounds maintenance duties during quieter periods, including:
- -Grass cutting
- -Watering
- -General grounds maintenance
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in the sports turf or grounds maintenance industry.
- Has sports line marking experience.
- Has experience using Turf Tank robotic line marking systems (preferred but not essential).
- Is self-motivated and comfortable working alone for the majority of the time.
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
- Can solve problems independently and make sensible decisions on site.
- Is reliable, hardworking and organised.
- Communicates professionally with clients, site staff and colleagues.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (essential).
Working Hours - This is a seasonal role with varying hours throughout the year.
Summer (April – October)
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Winter (November – March)
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:15pm
There is flexibility around start and finish times to suit operational requirements, such as earlier starts and earlier finishes where appropriate.
Please note that our busiest periods are during the Easter holidays and late August, when flexibility is essential.
Training & Development
Full hands-on training will be provided on all equipment and systems before you begin working independently. You will work closely with the General Manager to develop your knowledge of sports line marking, pitch mapping and site management, with opportunities to gain experience across other areas of the business.
Pay: Up to £30,160.00 per year
