Companion & Lifestyle Assistant – £17 per hour

We’re looking for warm, dependable and engaging people to join us as Companion & Lifestyle Assistants.
This is not a traditional care role.
Our clients are independent people who value their freedom, routines and way of life. Your role is to provide companionship, practical assistance and a reassuring presence — helping clients continue doing the things they enjoy, in the way they choose.
What you’ll be doing
- Spending quality time with clients at home
- Enjoying conversation, coffee, walks, meals out and shared interests
- Accompanying clients to appointments, shops, activities or social events
- Helping with everyday errands and practical tasks
- Preparing simple meals together
- Helping with phones, tablets, online bookings or other technology
- Providing light household assistance where helpful
- Supporting clients to maintain hobbies, interests and social connections
- Driving clients when required
- Keeping simple notes and communicating appropriately with the Serella team
- Getting to know each client as an individual and building a genuine, trusted relationship
No two clients are the same, and no two visits need to be the same.
Who we’re looking for
You do not need to come from a traditional care background.
We’re interested in people with warmth, confidence, good judgement and genuine interest in others.
You may have experience in hospitality, customer service, travel, beauty, retail, administration, private households, healthcare or another people-focused environment — or simply plenty of life experience and the right personality.
You’ll ideally be:
- Friendly, warm and naturally easy to talk to
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Patient and considerate
- Confident meeting new people
- Practical and willing to help
- Discreet and respectful
- Comfortable using everyday technology
- Able to use your own initiative
- A good listener with excellent communication skills
- Someone people genuinely enjoy spending time with
A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
