Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced CNC Miller/Turner who can operate and programme with confidence, using FeatureCAM for turning work and Openmind Hypermill for milling work. You'll be producing precision components for aerospace and defence customers, so this role suits someone who takes real pride in getting it right first time and understands what quality means in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate CNC turning centres using FeatureCAM
- Programme, set and operate CNC machining centres using Openmind Hypermill
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds for a range of materials, including aerospace alloys
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using standard metrology equipment
- Maintain accurate job documentation in line with AS9100D requirements
- Work closely with programming, engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC miller/turner in a precision engineering environment
- Hands-on programming experience with FeatureCAM (turning) and Openmind Hypermill (milling)
- Confidence setting and operating multi-axis CNC mills and lathes
- Strong drawing interpretation and GD&T knowledge
- Experience working to tight tolerances, ideally within aerospace or another regulated sector
- A methodical, quality-focused approach to the work
- NVQ or apprenticeship in machining, or equivalent hands-on experience

Pay: £17.00-£21.00 per hour
