Cumbernauld YMCA is seeking an experienced and motivated Child Care Lead Practitioner / Peripatetic Manager to help lead 2 bases in our Out of School Care services.

About the Role
Working alongside the Child Care Senior Manager, you will provide leadership and support across our Out of School Care services, ensuring excellent standards of care and compliance with Care Inspectorate and SSSC requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Leading, mentoring and supporting childcare teams across multiple services.
· Promoting a nurturing, child-centred environment where every child feels safe, valued and included.
· Supervising staff and supporting their professional development.
· Supporting quality assurance, self-evaluation and inspection readiness.
· Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
· Building positive relationships with children, families, schools and partner agencies.
· Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging play and learning experiences.
About You
You’ll have:
· BA Childhood Practice, SCQF Level 9 (or equivalent recognised by the SSSC).
· Registration, or eligibility to register, with the SSSC as a Lead Practitioner.
· At least four years’ experience within school-age childcare or a similar childcare setting, including leadership or management responsibilities.
· Knowledge of Health & Social Care Standards, GIRFEC, SHANARRI and Playwork Principles.
· Experience supporting and developing staff.
· Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills.
· A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable qualifications include Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Child Protection, Trauma Informed Practice and experience preparing for Care Inspectorate inspections.
