Looking for a leadership opportunity in childcare where you can genuinely shape a new club from day one?
Daddy Daycare is opening a brand-new after school club at Blindwells Primary School, Princes Way, East Lothian (EH32 9GS) — a growing new town close to Tranent and Prestonpans — and we’re looking for a Manager, Deputy Manager or an experienced Practitioner ready to step up to help establish, develop, and grow this exciting new setting.
About Us
Daddy Daycare is a family-run business with over thirteen years’ experience and seven successful after school clubs across East Lothian. We’re proudly child-led: children choose their snacks, toys, activities — and yes, they even help interview new staff.
We’re a Real Living Wage employer with strong progression pathways. As we continue to expand, this role offers a genuine opportunity to grow into a management position, supported academically and financially along the way.
About You
You’re someone who:
- Treats every child as an individual
- Enjoys building relationships and creating fun, meaningful experiences
- Is ready to take the next step in leadership — or already has supervisory experience and wants to help shape a brand-new club
You’ll bring:
- A relevant childcare qualification such as SVQ3, HNC/HND or equivalent
- At least two years’ experience in a nursery or out-of-school care setting
- Current PVG membership and SSSC registration
- A genuine interest in developing your leadership and management skills
This role is perfect for someone who wants to start their management journey in a calmer, more predictable environment than a full-day nursery — or for someone excited by the challenge of helping build and grow a new club with Daddy Daycare.
About the Role
You’ll join the founding team at Blindwells Primary School, opening August 2026. This is a year-round role, with opportunities to pick up additional hours during school holidays.
Opening Hours
- Breakfast Club: Monday–Friday, 7.30am–9am
- After School Club: Monday–Thursday, 2pm–6pm; Friday, 11.30am–6pm (30‑minute break)
- Admin: time away to process paperwork and keep files updated
We’re looking for someone who can commit to most breakfast club shifts and all after school club hours, and who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities as the club grows.
