Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-School Leader to oversee the daily operations of our preschool. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing learning environment. This role involves guiding a team of childcare professionals, developing engaging programmes, and ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained. The Pre-School Leader will play a vital role in supporting children's development and creating a welcoming atmosphere for families.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the pre-school team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure effective delivery of educational programmes.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development, creativity, and social skills.
- Maintain high standards of childcare, health, safety, and hygiene in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication and personalised care.
- Oversee daily routines, and ensure smooth operation of the preschool.
- Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate records of development milestones.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and safeguarding regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance programme quality and organisational effectiveness.
Essential Criteria
- Level 5 Leadership for Childrens Care, Learning and Development (or equivalent recognised qualifaction
- Minimum 2 years experience working within an Early Years setting
- Minimum 1 years experience in a leadership role within preschool setting with responsibility for day to day operation of the setting.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within a committee-led setting
- First Aid qualification
- Experience of inspection and quality assurance process
- Designated Child Protection Officer training
- Experience of carrying out the role of Designated Child Protection Officer
