1:2:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Chichester

Contract Type: Part-Time, Term Time Only
Daily Rate: £60 per day
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 1:00pm
We are looking for a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:2:1 support for a primary-aged pupil within a specialist SEMH school in Chichester. This is a rewarding role supporting a child with social, emotional and mental health needs in a structured, supportive and nurturing environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored 1:2:1 support to a primary-aged pupil
- Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation throughout the school day
- Develop a consistent, positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Support behaviour using calm, consistent and proactive strategies
- Assist in delivering individual support plans and classroom strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider pastoral teams
- Encourage positive behaviour, wellbeing and emotional development
- Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour (or a willingness to gain experience)
- Calm, patient and resilient nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of behaviour support and emotional regulation
- Reliable, proactive and committed attitude
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
