Job Overview
We are seeking 2 reliable and caring Kitchen Assistant to support our team within a nursing home environment.
Position 1= 18hrs, Position 2 = 30hrs
This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen, while assisting with the delivery and service of meals to residents. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to contribute to the wellbeing of others in a supportive and rewarding care setting.
Duties
- Assist with the plating, serving of meals.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, dining spaces, and equipment are kept clean and hygienic
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly
- Support with the safe storage and organisation of food supplies and deliveries
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations to maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a tidy working environment
- Work closely with the care and kitchen teams to ensure residents receive meals in a timely and respectful manner
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care, hospitality, or cleaning role is beneficial but not essential (full training provided)
- Awareness of hygiene and food safety standards is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently and follow instructions carefully
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, patient, and respectful approach, especially when interacting with residents
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
About the Role
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a caring environment and takes pride in cleanliness and organisation. You will play an important role in supporting residents’ daily routines and ensuring a pleasant mealtime experience.
Shifts are 0800 - 1900, further details will be provided at interview.
