Job description
- Immediate start with a working pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Overtime available at time + 1/3.
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player to join our team of HGV refuse collection drivers.
Following a pre-assigned route you will be responsible for the collection of dry mixed recycling, general, glass and/or food waste from wheeled bins from our customers in the hospitality and retail industry all across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
You will be responsible for carrying out daily vehicle checks, ensuring that time windows are followed and that local traffic regulations are adhered to.
You will be provided with full training on site and out on the job.
Applicant Requirements
Applicants must be presentable and punctual as this is a customer facing role where we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standard in the waste and recycling collections sector.
The ideal applicant will have:
- A full Class 2 UK driving license, with no more than 6 points and no DR, DD, CD or IN codes
- Experience driving in busy urban areas
- A good knowledge of driving in Edinburgh and surrounding areas
- Experience in working in the waste industry preferable
- Excellent customer service skills
You will be required to flexible in your approach to your working hours.
You’ll be joining an already successful team and will be trained and supported fully by our team.

- Basic rate of £17 per hour with time and a third offered for overtime.
We operate 7 days a week, our shift patterns vary between 4 and 5 days over 7 days which include weekends. Please only apply if you are available to work throughout the week.
