Cook / Chef – Care Home
We are looking for a caring, passionate and reliable Cook/Chef to join our friendly team within our family-run care home.
Food is a huge part of daily life in our home. We want our residents to look forward to mealtimes, from traditional home-cooked favourites to homemade desserts, seasonal menus and special themed dining days.
We’re particularly looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, creativity and enthusiasm into our kitchen. If you enjoy trying new dishes, improving presentation and putting your own ideas into menus, we’d love to hear from you.

Your role
You will:
- Prepare and cook fresh, home-cooked meals, desserts and snacks
- Help plan menus and contribute new ideas
- Create seasonal dishes and themed meals
- Cater for individual dietary, nutritional and texture-modified requirements
- Take pride in food presentation and the overall dining experience
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Complete food safety procedures and temperature checks
- Manage stock rotation, deliveries and kitchen organisation
- Work efficiently during busy meal services
- Communicate with care staff regarding residents’ dietary needs and preferences
- Help make mealtimes something our residents genuinely enjoy
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Cook, Chef or within a catering/kitchen environment
- A genuine passion for home cooking
- Someone who takes pride in presentation and quality
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Creative and willing to bring new ideas to the role
- Organised, reliable and hardworking
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A friendly and caring approach when working around our residents
- Care home experience is beneficial, but not essential
Most importantly, we want somebody who understands that food is much more than simply providing a meal. For many of our residents, mealtimes are one of the highlights of their day, and we want someone who takes pride in making them special.
Hours
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, so we are happy to discuss hours and working patterns with the right candidates.
