We are looking for talented Intelligence Researchers with fluency in Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) to join our growing Intelligence Team. Additional language skills would be considered an advantage.

The Role
As an Intelligence Researcher, you will play a key role in identifying, translating, analysing, and reporting on open source information in support of our clients’ intelligence requirements.
Working under the guidance of an Intelligence Manager and Regional Collection Manager, you will conduct structured research, assess information from a range of sources, and produce clear, concise written reporting that meets PCL’s editorial and analytical standards.

Key Responsibilities
· Open source research & collection
· Conduct structured open-source research in Indonesian in response to defined intelligence requirements.
· Identify, assess, and collect information from credible sources, prioritising primary and near-primary material.
· Translate and summarise non-English language material accurately and effectively.
· Monitor relevant political, security, economic, and social developments.
Reporting & Analysis…
· Produce clear, concise written reports in English aligned with internal editorial standards.
· Communicate the relevance, context, and implications of collected information.
· Support the delivery of regular intelligence reporting and bespoke research tasks.
· Contribute to the development of analytical products, including timelines, maps, and other visual outputs where required.
· Data & Information Management
· Maintain accurate records of sources, references, and research findings.
· Support internal databases and information management processes.
· Apply robust source validation principles and highlight any quality concerns.
Team Contribution…
· Participate actively in team meetings, briefings, and knowledge sharing sessions.
· Support wider team priorities and ad hoc research requirements.
· Maintain professional standards and follow internal policies relating to responsible data use and online conduct.
About You
You are a curious, reliable, and detail oriented researcher with strong language skills and an interest in understanding complex information environments.
You enjoy investigating information, identifying patterns, and communicating insights clearly to support decision making.
Essential Skills & Attributes
· Fluency in Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) (written and spoken).
· Strong written English, with the ability to produce clear and structured reporting.
· Strong translation and summarisation skills.
· Experience conducting research using open sources, academic resources, media, databases, or similar information environments.
· Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to reviewing information.
· Ability to assess source credibility and identify reliable information.
· Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
· Interest in geopolitical, security, regional, or socio-economic issues.
· Collaborative and professional approach with a willingness to learn and receive feedback.
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Additional South-East Asian language capability.
· Previous experience in intelligence, OSINT, risk analysis, investigative research, journalism, or regional analysis.
· Experience using structured research methodologies or information management systems.
· Familiarity with source evaluation and analytical techniques.
· Regional expertise or academic background relating to Indonesia, Southeast Asia, or wider Indo-Pacific affairs.

Additional Information
· Candidates must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. We are unable to sponsor visa applications for this role.
· Hybrid working arrangement with three days per week required in our Central London office.
· Staff may work remotely for 3-4 weeks during designated PCL remote working periods in the summer and Christmas periods. Working from abroad is not permitted.
