Musical Director (Singing Teacher)

£28 per hour
Start Date: 12 September 2026
(with some virtual meetings and training in August for a few hours)
One of the UK's leading performing arts training organisations, providing high-quality singing, acting and dance training to young people aged 4–18, are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic Musical Director (Singing Teacher) to join our team and help develop the next generation of performers.
The Role
You will lead our weekly singing classes, developing vocal technique, musicality, confidence and performance skills across a range of ages and abilities.
Our curriculum follows a structured approach:
Term 1
- Skills development and vocal technique
- Confidence building
- Musical theatre repertoire
- Ensemble singing
Terms 2 & 3
- Production and performance preparation
- Musical rehearsals
- Character through song
- Showcase and performance work
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging weekly singing lessons (including creating lessons plans)
- Develop vocal technique and musical confidence.
- Teach age-appropriate musical theatre repertoire.
- Prepare students for performances and productions.
- Collaborate with the Acting, Dance Teachers and Centre Directors.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Inspire students to achieve their potential.
About You
You will:
- Have strong singing and musical theatre experience/background.
- Be confident teaching children and young people of all ages.
- Be energetic, encouraging and reliable.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be passionate about developing young performers.
Teaching experience is preferred and desirable but not essential for exceptional candidates with strong industry experience.
