Fabricator / Welder
Caterpillar is recruiting experienced Fabricator/Welders to join its manufacturing facility in Larne, producing generator sets, enclosures and associated power generation equipment.
This is an opportunity to join a global engineering manufacturer, working within a skilled fabrication team on a four-day working week with competitive rates of pay and overtime available.
Pay:
Day Shift: £17.95 per hour
Night Shift: £23.93 per hour
Overtime (first 10 hours): £26.93 per hour
Overtime (after 10 hours): £35.90 per hour
Hours
37.5 hours per week (Monday - Thursday)
Days:
Monday: 07:00 - 17:15
Tuesday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:45
Nights:
Monday: 21:00 - 07:15
Tuesday - Thursday: 21:00 - 06:45
Candidates must be flexible to work both day and night shifts.
Responsibilities:

MIG weld and fabricate generator set components and sub-assemblies

Fabricate and modify bases, silencers, tanks, containers and enclosures

Read and interpret engineering drawings

Plan work methods and fabrication sequences

Repair and rework production components
-
Maintain Caterpillars quality, safety and 5S standards

Essential Requirements
-
NVQ Level 3, completed apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Fabrication & Welding

Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience

Ability to read engineering drawings

Good attention to detail and commitment to quality

Willingness to work overtime and rotating shifts
Desirable:
-
Experience within a manufacturing or lean environment

Experience using overhead cranes and slinging equipment
-
Competent using measuring equipment including tape measures and engineers squares

Ability to work at height
