This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team. The post is for a Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist for 12 months. You will be part of a team of 32 Consultants that provide care within the Directorate of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The unit was rated as Good by the CQC in March 2025.
The post-holder will be required to provide the full range of obstetric & Gynaecology skills such as managing the Labour Ward, Antenatal clinics, Section Lists, Maternity Assessment Unit, Hysteroscopy lists, theatre lists and Gynae outpatient clinics in collaboration with existing consultants.
The post holder will provide continuing responsibility for patients in their charge and will work within a team based structure to support care across both hospital sites. They will be a member of the relevant divisional, trust and regional committees. They will also be expected to participate in the immediate management functions and strategic planning of the Division and Trusts on both sites.
This post is based primarily at University Hospital of North Midlands. Clinical Duties will be across the Royal Stoke and County Hospital Sites with a total of 9.750PA’s . You will participate in the Obstetric on-call rota - 1:16 weekday and 1:15.4 (1:7.7) weekend obstetric on-call. (Weekends are Split to align presence and on-call – on a Friday & Sunday sequence, followed by a Saturday sequence)
