Duties
- Roadwork: Excavating and reinstating roads, footways, and utility trenches.
- Piping: Laying ducts, pipes, and drainage systems.
- Tools: Operating hand tools and small plant equipment safely.
- Site prep: Assisting with site preparation and groundwork activities.
- Safety: Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean worksite.
- Utilities: Supporting utility installation, repair, and maintenance projects.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Civils Operative or in a similar construction or civil engineering role
- Hands-on experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems relevant to civil works projects
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations within construction environments
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when required
