Job Title: Gujarati-Speaking Male Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Gujarati-speaking Male Care Assistant to provide high-quality personal care and companionship to a client in Ilford. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate fluently in Gujarati and English, respect the client's cultural and religious preferences, and promote independence while ensuring dignity and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers where required.
- Prepare meals that meet the client's dietary and cultural preferences.
- Administer or prompt medication in accordance with the care plan.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Accompany the client to appointments and community activities if required.
- Maintain accurate daily care records.
- Ensure the client's home environment remains clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Report any changes in the client's health or wellbeing to the care coordinator.
Requirements
- Fluent in Gujarati and able to communicate effectively in English.
- Male carer (required to meet the client's personal care needs).
- Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar care setting is preferred.
- Caring, patient, trustworthy, and respectful.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Care Certificate and/or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable.
- A full UK driving licence is an advantage but not essential.
