The Roles:
1. Senior Teaching Fellow in Adult Nursing
To work with colleagues and act as Module Coordinator (or equivalent), contributing to the delivery and design of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and responding to students' needs as a member of a teaching team.
To participate in and initiate teaching in accordance with the School and Faculty objectives.
To actively seek to engage with the student experience and enhance student employability and enterprise opportunities.
To support the School in its marketing, outreach and widening participation activities.
To lead in a key area(s) of the School's function (e.g. as a Course Leader or equivalent administrative role).
The role holder will be responsible for the design, development and approval of the Degree Apprenticeship for the pre-registration BN (Hons) Nursing (Adult) course in the School, and for ensuring the quality of education and the student learning experience, working closely with apprenticeship colleagues in the School, wider Faculty and practice learning partner organisations. They will ensure that the programme meets internal quality assurance processes and external evaluation requirements of Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs), including but not limited to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) educational standards, National Apprenticeship Standards and OFSTED Standards.

Working pattern
The working pattern for this post is a 0.2 FTE (7.4 hours per week), with the working day being negotiable.
Location
This position requires working on campus one day per week. As a result, we are unable to support hybrid working for this appointment.
Interview/Assessment date:
Interviews and a micro-teach are currently anticipated to be held on 10 September 2026.
The assessment process consists of a micro-teach that will take place in the morning followed by interviews in the afternoon. You will prepare and deliver a micro-teach (workshop) to a small group. Please note this is a two-stage process and you must pass the micro-teach assessment to progress to the interview stage. More details will be sent to you prior to the interview date regarding what to prepare.
This post is offered as a secondment and applicants will need to hold a substantive contract of employment in an appropriate NHS Trust. The successful applicant will be provided with a secondment agreement with the University of Portsmouth. NHS employees will remain employed and paid by their current employer on existing terms and salary. NHS employees will need to seek approval from their line manager to undertake this role before applying.
