Restaurant Manager — Jungli
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Reports to: Director / General Manager
Employment type: Full-time (evenings, weekends, and holidays as required)
About the Role
Jungli is looking for an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations and deliver a consistently excellent guest experience. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the venue — staffing, service standards, stock, compliance, and profitability — while building a strong, motivated team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth, high-quality service at all times
Set and maintain service standards, table management, and guest experience
Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally
Manage bookings, covers, and floor planning during peak periods
Team Management
Recruit, train, rota, and manage front-of-house staff
Conduct staff briefings, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes when needed
Foster a positive, high-performing team culture
Financial & Stock Control
Manage labour costs against budget and sales targets
Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships (drinks, consumables)
Monitor daily/weekly sales, wastage, and voids; report to senior management
Support pricing and promotional decisions
Compliance & Standards
Ensure full compliance with licensing law, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Maintain accurate records for food safety, allergens, and staff training
Ensure the venue passes environmental health and licensing inspections
Marketing & Growth
Work with the ownership team on events, promotions, and customer retention initiatives
Build relationships with regular guests and the local community
Requirements
Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager in a busy, guest-facing hospitality venue
Strong leadership and team management skills
Solid understanding of P&L, cost control, and stock management
Working knowledge of UK food hygiene, licensing, and health & safety requirements
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills under pressure
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Personal licence holder (or willingness to obtain one) preferred
Experience with EPoS systems and rota/HR software an advantage
