The role of the Chef/Assistant Manager is to help with the smooth running of the small kitchen and front of house, employing and training staff. Some menu planning including a daily special, ordering food, stock and budget control are also an important part of the job. The job will be mainly in the kitchen but could sometimes be serving on the front.
The Cafe at The Old Flight House is an important part of our antiques and interiors business and we have a great reputation for serving good quality, freshly prepared lunches and afternoon teas. The Cafe is used by our customers and also others who enjoy good food and a lovely atmosphere.
The right candidate must have experience running a kitchen, be energetic and enthusiastic and able to motivate and inspire staff, be dedicated to the job and be able to fit in with our small, happy, friendly team.
We are open every day 10am (11am Sundays) to 5pm and the assistant manager would need to work 4/5 days per week including usually two weekends per month.
We offer a competitive salary plus tips and a share of the profits paid quarterly and a meal on duty.
We are located just outside Weston on the Green OX25 3TJ so own transport is essential.
