This is a part time position for a two week Rota. One week working Friday and the following week working Saturday and Sunday. 8am to 6pm.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of cooking in a care home setting, with an emphasis on food safety and meal preparation.
As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to our three week set menu.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in the planning of menus and meal preparation schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the manager.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home kitchen, restaurant or commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Proficiency in meal preparation techniques, including chopping, grilling, baking, and plating.
- Strong culinary skills with an ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to continually improve culinary skills.
