At its site in Middlewich, Cheshire, UK (with immediate central links to the M6), Indaver operates a solvent recycling facility; accepting hazardous and non-hazardous (waste) solvents, providing bespoke recovery solutions, Indaver is able to support the customers with lab analysis, pilot scale trials, and recycling at commercial scale.
A highly skilled and experienced workforce, including chemical engineers, engineers, chemists, and senior plant operators, are at your service. With continuous investment and innovation to enhance existing facilities and new equipment to meet the needs of the customer base.
Working within the company commercial policy and under the direction of the Managing Director Indaver Solvents, the purpose of this role is to lead the commercial recovery and growth agenda for Indaver Solvents UK.
The role has direct accountability for profitable revenue growth, gross margin improvement, customer and contract profitability, recovered solvent sales, strategic tolling opportunities, pricing discipline and commercial pipeline management.
It will focus primarily on Indaver Solvents Middlewich, ensuring commercial activity is aligned with site capability, available plant capacity, operational priorities and financial objectives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial growth strategy for Indaver Solvents UK, with primary responsibility for the Middlewich operation.
- Drive profitable revenue growth, gross margin improvement, and customer profitability.
- Develop and manage a strong commercial pipeline, converting opportunities into sustainable business.
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with key customers, traders, and strategic partners.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, service agreements, and commercial terms to protect margins and deliver value.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including strategic tolling agreements and recovered solvent sales.
- Ensure commercial opportunities are technically feasible, operationally deliverable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, Finance, and QESH teams to align commercial activity with business objectives and plant capacity.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, pipeline reporting, and commercial performance reviews.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify risks and growth opportunities.
- Maintain robust commercial processes including CRM management, contract reviews, pricing governance, and account planning.
- Support wider business development projects where they contribute to Indaver Solvents UK's growth and strategic objectives.
Experience & Qualifications Required
- Proven experience in a senior commercial, business development, sales, or account management role within an industrial B2B environment.
- Track record of delivering revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitable customer development.
- Experience managing pricing strategies, commercial forecasts, customer profitability, and contract negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and convert commercial pipelines into sustainable revenue.
- Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Technical, Finance, and Compliance/QESH teams.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate opportunities based on risk, return, and operational feasibility.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems.
- Degree-level qualification in Business, Commercial, Chemical, Environmental, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience within the chemicals, solvents, waste management, recycling, environmental services, pharmaceutical, or process industries sectors.
- Knowledge of solvent recovery, recovered product sales, tolling agreements, or technically complex service contracts.
- Experience using CRM and pipeline management tools.
- Established industry network within relevant industrial, chemical, environmental, or waste markets.
