We're looking for a Banking Administrator (Legal Biller) to join our Finance team on a 3-month contract, supporting a busy and collaborative Defendants Billing Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial transactions are processed efficiently, billing queries are resolved promptly, and financial records remain accurate and compliant.
As a Banking Administrator, you'll take ownership of a variety of billing and banking activities, including:
- Processing daily BACS receipts and allocating payments to the correct matter files within the case management system.
- Managing and maintaining suspense account balances, proactively investigating and resolving unidentified receipts.
- Processing defendant bills, reversals, corrections and other billing transactions accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Working closely with branch offices, payors and the Costs Team to resolve queries that may delay billing or payment allocation.
- Responding professionally to billing-related enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
- Supporting colleagues across the wider finance function and providing cover during periods of absence when required.
- Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and integrity.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and their practical application.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
- Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using automated case management systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and see tasks through to completion.
